For the gallery section at Art Basel Miami joségarcía ,mx propose to conceive a visually attractive device that serves as a single broad platform or individual bases as an alternative too, for a selection of recent sculptural works by various artists from the gallery –including Rometti-Costales, Eduardo Sarabia, Edgardo Aragón, Mario García Torres, Simon Fujiwara, Christian Jankowski , Tania Pérez Córdova and José León Cerrillo–, in order to pose diverse and current questions around the object, and the concept of object-hood in each of their practices.

Taking as a departing point for this selection a major work by Rometti-Costales produced for an exhibition last year, entitled Zobrareca, 2014. This work is composed of a 500 kilograms volcanic rock that has been intervened and painted with acrylic paint in the manner of a zebra pattern, this sculpture poses the question of the possibilities and perspectives that can unfold from one single object.…
