About the event

ree

The artists developed an interest in hand-carved walking stick. These objects have been used as a support, a weapon and symbol for the wanderer for thousand of years. They are also among the first tools fashioned and decorated by men, anchoring them within the early history of art. After a dialogue with the Slovak woodcarver Oldrich Richter. Jankowski commissioned him to produce a new series of sticks. He shows them leaning against a wall and uses them to hold in place images illustrating the use of suck stick in different cultures and through the ages.

Each work of the series Walking Logic includes a handmade stick the allocated digital print and memory stick containing the video of the dialogo between Jankowski and the woodcarver.
